Install your Tikee mini

How do you prepare for your installation?

Choose your installation point(s)

In general, we recommend installing the Tikee mini halfway up the scene you wish to photograph. For distance, you can multiply the installation height by 1.5.

Once your Tikee mini is installed, you can check your frame with the preview.

Remember to obtain all the necessary authorizations before installation - whenever possible, avoid using a cherry picker.

Mounting the Tikee mini

For a few hours' shooting time, your Tikee mini can be set up on its rubber feet on a sufficiently flat, non-tilted surface, or on a camera tripod.

If you're going to be shooting for several days/months, we recommend you use a rigid support that guarantees the same framing over time, and helps secure your Tikee mini's position.

The stainless steel mounting arm and the mounting kit in the Tikee mini pack allow you to install your Tikee mini in a variety of configurations (on a pole, against a wall, on a railing, etc.).
In addition, our telescopic fixing pole (up to 5 meters hight) allows you to create a high point.

To prevent theft and/or vandalism, place your Tikee mini in a discreet, high location and use an anti-theft device, (included in the pack). The Tikee mini is fitted with a dedicated insert.

How to install your Tikee mini camera for the best image quality?

Your Tikee mini has a wide-angle lens, so we recommend keeping the Tikee mini as horizontal as possible during installation to minimise any distortion of the image (you can use a spirit level or your smartphone via a mobile app.

If the camera is tilted (high-angle shot or low-angle), the wide angle leads to a deformation of the skyline on the final panorama.

Once you have chosen the framing, lock the position of your Tikee mini so that there is no change in its framing over the time. Be sure to use a hard mounting bracket to ensure consistent framing of the shot over time. We recommend to use the stainless steel arm designed by Enlaps for Tikee mini.

Indoor installation of Tikee mini.

For indoor use, you can connect the camera to the mains using the micro USB charger supplied with the camera Tikee Mini pack or also available in the Accessories section. The solar panel will not work indoors, even behind glass.
